Shivering through the coldest Melbourne May in 70 years, there were few words to describe my excitement to be escaping to Port Douglas for Chris and Gabrielle’s wedding. A week of swimming, sunsets, champagne and celebrations made for a truly unforgettable wedding experience.

Although I get excited whenever I’m invited to film a wedding anywhere in the Ballarat region, there a few venues I believe have all the ingredients needed for a memorable and classic wedding film.

While Melton itself may just be the suburb I call home, I know how many beautiful locations its surrounds have to offer. Every year my couples find new spots to get married in and I feel lucky to be invited to join them so close to home.

There’s nothing more flattering than a couple who love your work so much that they’re happy to fly you to another country to film their wedding. Lance & Sofia provided an incredible week of Greek, Thai and Chinese celebrations; a truly unforgettable experience.

After a successful pilot wedding for the owner of Del Rios Winery, it was time for the real deal. Kathleen and Andres were the first to marry here on a perfect summer’s day and it was a privilege to be the first shoot to them under one of Victoria’s best sunsets.

Lorne hosts some truly epic landscapes and lookouts to shoot with my couples, but it’s not always about the destination. The journey between locations in the Kombi with the Great Ocean Road beside us made for a memorable moment in itself.
