ABOUT THE COUPLE

HOW DID YOU GUYS MEET?

We met on the sticky dance floor of Home House (Geelong nightclub) haha. That night my friends planned to go clubbing in Melbourne and last minute decided to hit the clubs in Geelong for the first time. We were so overdressed because we were so used to the Melbourne strict dress codes. We stuck out like a sore thumb in Geelong as everyone wore runners and jeans! But I seem to have caught Andres' eye. He grabbed my hand on the dance floor and the rest was history.

WHY DID YOU WANT TO CAPTURE YOUR WEDDING ON VIDEO?

At first we didn't think much of having a videographer, until I saw Jamie’s video of Jade's elopement video! At the time we were already engaged for 2 years and life & procrastination got in the way of our wedding planning. As soon as we saw your video it inspired us to start.

WHY DID YOU GUYS PICK ME?

Same as above - But I also instantly felt comfortable with you knowing that we have crossed paths and have mutual friends.

THE PROPOSAL… TELL ME EVERYTHING

Andres proposed on our Singapore holiday in 2018. At this point in our lives, we had already been together for 6 years and life had slowly fallen into place after a few obstacles. We already picked out a ring quite sometime ago but I didn't know when we were ready for the next step. Right before our flight to Singapore Andres asked me to find his phone and at right at that moment a text message popped up on the screen from his sister saying "did you pack the ring?" I had to pretend I didn't see it I have now idea how I held in my shock and excitement lol We were so exhausted as soon as we landed but Andres insisted we check out the Light show at Gardens By the Bay (look it up its so pretty!) I could see the box budging out of his pocket and still had to pretend I had no idea what was going on! It was around 9pm when the Light show started and it was amazing! It was a warm humid night, the light show filled the sky, the music was blaring and the backdrop of the city looked incredible. Andres took me away from the large crowd and we started to dance in an empty area. He got down on one knee and we both started crying. We had gone through so much together as a couple before this point where it might have broken some relationships - but for us we fought together and it made us stronger. Even though I knew he was going to propose, it still took my breathe away and felt like all the hardship and struggles we had gone through lead us to this point and we felt ready to for our next chapter.

DEL RIOS WINERY… WHY HERE ABOVE ANYWHERE ELSE?

For about 2 years we searched on and off for venues in Geelong, there were a couple of good spots but something kept holding me back from actually booking it. One day we took our son to Fairy Park in Anakie, at the top of the hill we looked through the telescope and saw a pretty winery close by. We had no idea a winery existed in Anakie? One day we booked lunch there and the moment we walked in, we knew 100000% this was the place we wanted to get married! After speaking to the owners we later found out the Del Rios family that own the winery are long term family friends with Andres' grandmother - we knew it was meant to be. There was an instant connection with the owners. They shared memories of when Andres was a little boy and funny stories about his grandmother from her younger years. I'm so glad we waited for the right venue to find us

WHAT’S PLANNED FOR THE HONEYMOON?

We hoped to have a honeymoon but its been hard to plan with COVID. One of our dreams is to one day travel to Europe and New York (also helps that we have family there to visit). We may postpone our honeymoon later on in life for an huge trip to Europe and America? We'll see where life takes us.
