A WEDDING AT THE LORNE HOTEL // RHIANNON & SHAUN

VENUE: CODA LORNE

PHOTOGRAPHER: MADELEINE KUKLYCH

ABOUT THE COUPLE

HOW DID YOU GUYS MEET?

Rhiannon: Shaun was my PT. I started training with him to improve my fitness for my application process for VicPol.

WHY DID YOU WANT TO CAPTURE YOUR WEDDING ON VIDEO?

We knew that we wouldn’t be able to have all our family there and we wanted to capture the moments for them and the fact we now have something we can keep forever was an added bonus.

WHY DID YOU GUYS PICK ME?

We loved how down to earth you were… it was easy to communicate our vision with you and loved your previous compilations.

YOU GUYS… WHAT DO YOU DO? HOW DO YOU SPEND YOUR DAYS? WHAT’S IMPORTANT IN LIFE?

Us… Shaun is a primary school teacher and I am a police officer. We spend most of our days at home with our dog and cat. We love summer time and try to get to the beach as much as possible. Our family (fur and human) and our friends mean the world to us.

THE PROPOSAL… TELL ME EVERYTHING

Shaun proposed on the 23rd Dec 2018… he and his mum had made bon-bons for family Christmas (so I thought). We went and picked them up from his mum’s house and brought them back to our house to take to Torquay for Xmas…. Shaun insisted on trying one. So in our dining room we pulled the bon-bon and out came the ring box…. I did not click on as to what was going on and was very confused as to why they used ring boxes to keep the favours in the bon-bons… Shaun then dropped to one knee and asked the question… I called him a f***king jerk as I couldn’t believe he had managed to hide this from me and surprise me (no easy feat) and of course said I yes … followed by some very ugly crying…. We then spent 3 hours on the phone telling all our family and friends.

LORNE HOTEL… WHY HERE ABOVE ANYWHERE ELSE?

Shaun spent most of his childhood summers in Lorne … we always wanted to get near the beach and when we saw some packages advertised at the Lorne Hotel we went for a look and fell in love with the simplicity and beauty of the place.

IS THERE A HONEYMOON PLANNED?

We did a mini moon after the wedding to the Yarra Valley where we wined and dined. Our ultimate honeymoon is 10 days eating our way through Japan followed by a week in Bali for some RnR… not booked yet due to cousin COVID but plans are in the pipeline.
