From the very first chat I had with Chelsea and David around 6 months before their wedding, I was already excited to be their wedding videographer for 3 main reasons. First was their incredibly laidback attitude which always leads to a stress-free wedding day. Second was the idea of using their penthouse hotel room at the Chadstone Hotel as a location for their couple shoot. A fresh scene always gets my videographer mind running in overdrive with ideas. Lastly was their unconditional trust in me to do their wedding video justice. I always ask my couples what they envision for their wedding film and David and Chelsea’s response was simply “do what you do”. It is an incredibly validating feeling and whenever I’m given that green light, it is pedal to the metal.
ABOUT THE COUPLE
HOW DID YOU GUYS MEET?
David and I met at work in 2017. We became great friends and we started seeing each other more often at work events and after work drinks. One day David asked me to be a plus one to a wedding and this is where our relationship blossomed. We started dating in the Christmas period during December in the same year we met.
YOU GUYS… WHAT DO YOU DO? HOW DO YOU SPEND YOUR DAYS? WHAT’S IMPORTANT IN LIFE?
We live in Melbourne with our beloved dog, Henry. We are fortunate to still work from home together in insurance sales and we enjoy spending our time discovering new restaurants (we are big foodies), walking by the beach, cooking together and spending time with our family and friends. For us, we are grateful to be in a position to indulge in what we love from hard work and enjoy travelling to new destinations. God plays a big part of being happily married.
WHY DID YOU WANT TO CAPTURE YOUR WEDDING ON VIDEO?
We love moments that are close to our heart between our family and friends. Capturing all of the most important people in our lives gather together on our wedding day meant so much to us. We want to be able to look back in years from now seeing how blessed we are along with all the emotions we felt on the day in the visual form to pass down to future generations.
WHY DID YOU GUYS PICK ME?
Jamie captures all the moments in such a powerful way and he shows all the little details in such a sophisticated way. We love his candid style approach he takes as it is genuine and organic. We stumbled across his Instagram and started watching some of his videos on his website and were so impressed. He was so pleasant to work with on our special day and we couldn't have chosen anyone greater.
THE PROPOSAL… TELL ME EVERYTHING
David proposed to me at the Langham in Melbourne in July 2021. We celebrated on our balcony with some champagne. It was such an amazing day and we went to one of our favourite restaurants in Collins Street for dinner followed by seeing some of our friends for Karaoke later that evening. A few months later we celebrated our engagement party.
MERRIMU RECEPTIONS… WHY HERE ABOVE ANYWHERE ELSE?
Merrimu Receptions was exactly what we were looking for as there is a beautiful courtyard area and the dance floor was big for plenty of dancing! The location of Merrimu was symbolic to us as Chelsea's parents got married there at the exact same venue.
WHAT’S PLANNED FOR THE HONEYMOON?
South Korea was the destination we chose for our honeymoon. We left four days after our wedding and we had such a magnificent time. We stayed in Seoul in the Gangnam district. We had never been to South Korea before so we wanted to go to a destination where we both hadn't been before to create brand new memories. The culture of South Korea is so calming and unique. We would highly reccommend it to those who want a relaxing and adventurous holiday both at the same time.
