Despite over 100 guests, the atmosphere remained warm and intimate, a testament to the shared history of those who grew up together in the regional hub of Ballarat. The landscape stretches out with wide paddock views, grazing horses, and the timeless charm of windmills. The original shedding, with its flagstone floors, wooden beams, and sparkling chandeliers, would’ve provided the perfect character-filled spaces for the celebration had it not been for been for the perfect evening conditions outside.

The ceremony was a heartfelt occasion, shielded from the intense 36-degree heat and gusty winds. As the vows were exchanged and a young magnolia was potted using soil from both families, a sense of unity and warmth filled the air. Guests then enjoyed a beautiful summer evening, chatting and laughing as the sun began its descent. While the festivities continued, I took the opportunity to visit a private farm just down the road for a couple’s shoot. The landscape was breathtaking—rolling hills under a dramatic sky, with the sun breaking through just long enough to create some truly cinematic wedding videography.

As the night fell, a live band ignited the dancefloor, bringing boundless energy to the celebration. Never in my life had I seen a grown man perform the worm which such passion and perfect execution. The party showed no signs of slowing down as I packed up for the night, leaving behind a wedding that perfectly embodied love, friendship, and the joy of coming together.
