IMMERSE WINERY WEDDING VIDEOGRAPHY
A WEDDING FILMED AT THE IMMERSE WINERY //
VENUE: IMMERSE WINERY
PHOTOGRAPHER: A TOUCH OF FLASH
November in Melbourne is that sweet spot where the days start to stretch out and the weather promises warmth, even if it doesn’t always follow through. I started this day filming bride prep as heavy rain poured down outside. The Airbnb had some great outdoor areas we had hoped to use, but they were completely out of action. At that point, the outlook for the day wasn’t looking great.
But as we arrived at Immerse Winery for the first look, the rain cleared and the spring sunshine made a surprise entrance. It felt like the whole day turned around. And for a wedding videographer, that kind of weather shift adds real texture to the story of the film.
One of the best things about Immerse is the variety of locations available for couple shoots. We started at the cabin tucked away at the back of the property, sitting right on a lake with a wooden pier. That’s where we captured the first look. It’s a quiet and private corner of the venue, perfect for those early emotional moments.
The ceremony was held in the chapel, which comes with its own unique lighting challenges. There’s a large window behind the altar that creates strong backlight, while the rest of the space sits in low light under some harsh yellow overheads. But this is where I thrive. After chatting with the couple in advance, we decided to turn off the indoor lights. That let me shape the natural light in the room and position myself to capture clean, cinematic shots that feel true to the atmosphere of the space.
After the ceremony, guests enjoyed canapés in the gardens while the afternoon sun dropped lower in the sky. I took that opportunity to shoot some great natural moments between guests, while also preparing for the second part of our portrait session. We split the sunset shoot between the lower lake, using the water reflections for a soft visual effect, and the upper ridge at the back of Immerse. That mountaintop view is one of the venue’s hidden gems. The extra elevation buys you a bit more light as the sun sets, and it’s a perfect way to finish the shoot on a high.
Back at the reception, a candlelit dinner awaited. It felt warm and intimate, with thoughtful speeches and a relaxed mood. The couple kicked things off with a rehearsed first dance that landed perfectly, and from there the dancefloor filled quickly. I filmed for about an hour before wrapping up, with plenty of great moments to carry through to the final edit.
If you're planning a wedding at Immerse Winery and want a film that captures both the beauty of the Yarra Valley and the real feeling of the day, this venue gives you all the tools. From a wedding videography perspective, Immerse delivers light, texture, and atmosphere in all the right places.
