Jack and Rachael’s wedding at Half Acre in Melbourne was a beautifully planned celebration that balanced heartfelt moments with an unforgettable party. The day began with a first look at Williamstown Botanic Gardens, a location I love for its quiet, hidden walkways that allow for intimate moments away from the public eye. This also meant we could capture a stunning variety of portraits—lush greenery from the gardens combined with breathtaking waterfront shots overlooking Port Phillip Bay. As always, I’m a huge advocate for pre-ceremony portraits, as it gives couples more time to relax and enjoy their guests later in the day.

Their ceremony took place in Half Acre’s restaurant space, an intimate and atmospheric setting that presented a few filming challenges due to its size. However, with careful planning—and some very cooperative guests who kindly gave my cameras some room—I was able to capture one of the best groom reaction shots I’ve ever filmed. Seeing Jack’s raw emotion as Rachael walked down the aisle was a moment that truly defined the depth of their connection.

The reception was everything you’d hope for in a Melbourne wedding—incredible speeches, plenty of laughter, and a room filled with love. A standout moment was when Jack’s father led an impromptu rendition of the Polish classic Sto Lat, with guests joining in for a spirited singalong that added a unique, personal touch to the night. From there, the energy on the dancefloor never let up, with guests celebrating non-stop until the very end.
