ABOUT THE WEDDING

Bradley and Stefanie’s wedding at Gordon Manor was a truly special occasion. While the venue has traditionally been used for wedding accommodation, this time, it played host to the entire celebration—from bride prep in its beautifully decorated rooms to a ceremony on the open lawn and a seamless reception setup where the indoor kitchen flowed into an outdoor canapés and dancefloor area. The large number of rooms at Gordon Manor also gives couples the option to accomodate travelling guests after a wedding day.

The day began with the groom and groomsmen getting ready in Ballarat. It was here that I met Stefanie’s son, Hunter, for the first time. His presence made this wedding even more meaningful. Recently diagnosed with a degenerative muscular disease, Hunter’s mobility and quality of life were expected to decline over time. For Bradley and Stefanie, having video footage of him while he was still able to walk and run was incredibly important, and I made it a priority to dedicate time throughout the day to capturing moments of him just being a kid—laughing, playing, and celebrating alongside his parents.

The ceremony took place on the open lawn, set against the property’s back fence, though one of the great things about Gordon Manor is its flexibility in ceremony locations. Later in the day, we took advantage of the front lawn for bridal portraits, making the most of the estate’s charming countryside setting. Right next door, there’s an old church available for religious ceremonies, but instead, we used its classic architecture as a stunning backdrop for couple shots, adding a timeless feel to their wedding film.

As the evening rolled in, the reception came to life, with guests enjoying the relaxed flow between indoor conversations and the outdoor dancefloor. The atmosphere was intimate—perfect for heartfelt speeches and a night of celebration under the stars.
